Medisa

The customer:

CPG Logistics is a long-established privately owned company that has provided logistics services since 1978. Today, the company is recognised as one of the UK’s leading solution providers for specialist logistics services and supply chain management.

The company operates from state-of-the-art facilities, with four UK warehouses in Gosport, Hampshire, consisting of 20,000 square meters of quality warehousing and 4,000 square meters of dedicated production and assembly areas operating to Good Manufacturing Practice standards.

The challenge:

As part of their marketing operations, CPG has developed Medisa, a standalone online system for the healthcare industry. Medisa allows information on specific products, treatment areas and general therapies and diseases to be accessed in hard copy or digital resource format. It provides a way for the pharmaceutical companies to reach UK healthcare professionals, patients and carers with invaluable information and useful resources.

CPG’s management team wanted to finance the software intellectual property for Medisa following previous success with a different product, Pharmisa.

The solution:

As software development rarely stands still and often comes at a significant cost, CPG were keen to further invest in the development of the Medisa software catalogue and to further develop enhancements which will increase functionality and the ability to service new products, including veterinary pharmaceuticals. After meeting with Close Brothers Technology Services Relationship Director, Martin Cadby, the team at CPG agreed a £400,000, 60 month Software Intellectual Property Rights secured loan to finance these developments.

The results:

Close Brothers Technology Services software intellectual property funding has proved to be a solution that has enabled CPG to realise cash from development costs and the management team is confident the investments they are making will increase sales revenues, further locking their clients into an industry leading solution.
